Anyone who already owns a car trailer no longer wants to do without its advantages. Here we speak from our own experience, as we have a trailer ourselves. Of course, the question is justified, because after all, the acquisition involves some costs.
For the purchase of the trailer itself you have to plan at least 400 euros. If the car does not yet have a trailer hitch, you have to buy and attach it, for both costs of 500 to 900 euros, depending on the car, have to be budgeted. The annual cost of car insurance and taxes are less than 150 euros.
If you add up all the costs, they look quite steep at first glance, but if the trailer is used correctly, it will bring the expenses back in after a short time.
When is it worth buying?
If you want to transport something on a regular basis, including things that no longer fit in the car due to their size or cannot be transported there, a purchase is more than justified.
You can easily transport building material, sand, gravel, earth, stones, firewood, furniture or the like with your trailer and there is another point, because you no longer make your car dirty even inside and thus save yourself cleaning .

Let us assume that renting a car trailer costs 40 euros a day and you need the trailer 10 times a year, then we would already be 400 euros and over 3 years we would already be 1200 euros.
Furthermore, you first have to drive to the hardware store or the rental shop, which is associated with additional expenditure of time, and you also have to refer to the opening times. With your own car trailer you are completely independent, which is a clear advantage.
Whether or not it is worth it simply depends on how many times a year you need a trailer.…
